Bees fly approximately 77,200 kms to gather the nectar needed to produce a litre of honey. They visit up to 50-100 flowers during any one flight from the hive. For 1 kg of honey they need to visit around 4 million of flowers. A hive of bees flies around 88.500 kms to produce 1/2 kg of honey. A worker bee produces a maximum of 1 teaspoon of honey in its lifetime.
