Unbelievably Easy Ikan Bakar Recipe! Sedapnya!
Are you craving the smoky, flavourful goodness of Ikan Bakar but don't have access to a grill? Fret not, you can now make mouth-watering Ikan Bakar right in your oven! That's right—your trusty oven is about to become your new best friend in the kitchen.
Ingredients Needed
- 3 Tbsp Sambal Belacan [ Recipe ]
- 1 Medium Red Onion
- 1 Cleaned Snapper, about 500g

- Aluminum Foil and Banana Leaves to wrap the fish in
Method
1. Slice the peeled red onion and set aside.
2. Make 3 slits on each side of the fish.
3. Rub sambal belacan thoroughly on both sides of the fish.
4. Lay a banana leaf on aluminium foil and spread out the red onion slices on the banana leaf. Add your marinated fish and then wrap it up with the banana leaf and aluminium foil.
5. Set it aside for 30 mins or more.
6. Preheat your oven at 190°C for 10 mins then bake the fish for about 25 mins or till cooked. (Refer to your oven's baking guide for the appropriate duration.)
7. Unwrap your Ikan Bakar and you're now all set to impress your loved ones with this quick and easy dish that's sure to trigger exclamations of "Sedapnya!"
