WFH can result in an irresistible craving for snacks, so here’s an easy-to-prepare and nutritious recipe for Korean Red Bean Bun (Jjinppang), best made with WMF Perfect Premium Pressure Cooker!

Korean Red Bean Bun (Jjinppang)
Makes 8–10 Buns

  • 300g Red Bean Paste (adjustable to preference)
  • 2 tbsp Dry Yeast
  • 2 tbsp White Butter
  • 2 tbsp White Sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 3 ½ cup All Purpose Flour
  • 1 ½ cup Whole Milk

Step 1
Melt butter in a pan over low heat.

Step 2
Add sugar to the melted butter. Mix well and remove from heat.

Step 3
Add the salt, dry yeast, flour and milk to the mixture. Stir until it produces a dough-like texture.

Step 4
Knead the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.

Step 5
Shape dough into individual discs by taking a small handful of dough at a time and flattening it on your palm.

Step 6
Add a tablespoon of red bean paste to each disc and wrap the dough around the paste to form the buns.

Step 7
Insert steaming tray into your WMF Perfect Premium Pressure Cooker and add water (not higher than the tray’s base).

Step 8
Place the buns, spaced apart, into the pressure cooker. Place the pressure cooker on the hob.

Step 9
Close the lid and set cooking level to 1 and start cooking on high heat.

Step 10
Once you see the 2nd green indicator, cook for 15 minutes on low heat.

Step 11
Serve hot with your favourite tea!
