Tasty Treat with Tanyu Claypot

Garlic Black Chicken Soup
For 2 to 3 persons


  • 1 black chicken
  • 10 dried mushrooms (washed & soaked till soft)
  • 3 slices ginger
  • 120g garlic (peeled)
  • 10g wolfberries
  • 2 stalks of codonopsis root (党参 dang shen)
  • 800ml water


  • Chinese wine & salt to taste

Step 1
Bring water to boil in Tanyu stock pot over high heat.

Step 2
Slowly place black chicken into the boiling water.

Step 3
Add the mushrooms, ginger and garlic.

Step 4
Add the water for soaking the mushroom through a strainer to remove any sediments.

Step 5
Stir well, bring to a boil and then simmer over medium heat with lid on for one hour.

Step 6
Add salt and wine before serving
